Choose your own investment options

If you want more choice - or more control - over where your money is invested you can choose your own funds.

The full range gives you a choice of funds covering all the main asset classes. It also gives you access to markets across the world.

Remember that with investments the value can go down as well as up and they may be worth less than what was paid in. If you need help with choosing your investments, you should seek financial advice. There is likely to be a charge for this.

Choose your own options

You can pick from the full range of lifestyle options and funds to build your own investment portfolio that suits your needs.

You'll find a summary of all your options in the How to choose the right investment options for your pension guide (PDF, 896KB).

If you decide to pick your own funds from the full range, you should think about spreading your risk by investing in a variety of asset classes – and a range of investments in each asset class.

It's also very important to make your selection based on your individual needs and attitude to risk.

It will be up to you to keep checking the performance of your investments and to decide if you need to make changes. You may need to update your portfolio regularly to keep on track and in line with your attitude to risk.

Choosing from the full range could be a good option if:

  • You have a good understanding of investments and different types of assets
  • You want full control over selecting the funds you invest in
  • You are comfortable monitoring your own investments and adjusting them as your circumstances change

You'll find more information about all the funds in our full range, including fund factsheets on our UK website.
